It started with a missed fish!

Flex Spex wasn't created in a boardroom. It started on a fishing trip.

I was floating down the river with my brother, trying to tie on a new fly after breaking off at the top end of one of the best stretches of water. Instead of fishing, I was fighting with my reading glasses, my sunglasses, and the straps from my gear. Everything seemed to be tangled together.

By the time I finally got everything sorted out, we'd drifted right through the hot spot...and my brother had already hooked and released several beautiful fish.

I wasn't just annoyed - I was frustrated. I remember thinking, There has to be a better way.

​

When I got home, I started working on a solution. I had three simple goals:

• Keep my reading glasses off my neck.

• Let me use my readers without taking off my sunglasses.

• Make them easy to grab the second I need them.

After a lot of trial and error, Flex Spex was born.

I built them because I needed them. It didn't take long to realize I wasn't the only one.

Today, Flex Spex are used by fishermen, hunters, farmers, contractors, truck drivers, mechanics, golfers, and countless others who are tired of fumbling with reading glasses when they're trying to get the job done.

Sometimes the best ideas don't come from a business plan.

Sometimes they come from watching your brother catch the fish you should have caught.
